Welcome to Chicago's grand, historic, and beautiful Garfield Park, located in the community of the same name and first established back in 1869. The beautiful Gold Dome Fieldhouse is a popular community center and a great place for weddings and other events. For many years this urban playground was known as Central Park but was renamed in 1881 in memory of President James Garfield who was recently assassinated. The man who designed this park was none other than William Le Baron Jenney who was the father of the skyscraper.
