Welcome to Chicago's Harsh Park located in the Kenwood section of town. This park was first established in 1960 and was named in 1974 as Beach Park, which, like many others in the city was named for a plant or animal. In 2005 it was renamed for Vivian Gordon Harsh, who became one of the city's first African-American librarians back in 1924.
