Welcome to Chicago's Hiawatha Park, named for the iconic Onondaga Chief Hiawatha whom Henry Wadsworth Longfellow put into a poem. At the time the park was established it was local tradition to give some of the city parks Native American names and the residents insisted on Hiawatha. Today Hiawatha offers day camp in the summertime, boasts seasonal sports, and contains a fitness center, sprayground, and many other amenities to be enjoyed by the residents and visitors of Chicago. Come on out and have fun.
