Welcome to Chicago's Lerner Playlot Park, a former claypit in what was once part of Chicago's booming brick-making industry. The industry died down in the middle of the 20th century but recreational needs soared so the city purchased this property and made it into an active urban playground. It was named for an active public servant of the region, Leo Lerner. The soccer field is lighted so people can play at night.
