Welcome to Chicago's magnificent Lincoln Park! In the mid-19th century the area that is now Lincoln Park was a cemetery for victims of the smallpox and cholera viruses. Growing concerns about public health pushed citizens to demand that the site be converted into a public park. In the 1850's it was converted into Lake Park but was renamed in memory of President Abraham Lincoln following his assassination. Today the park is larger than New York's Central Park and offers various recreational opportunities to Chicago residents and visitors and is the home to the Lincoln Park Zoo. Come out and have fun!

Lincoln Park has several beaches including Foster Beach and Montrose Beach, and Kathy Osterman Beach located at 5800 North Lake Shore Drive.
