Lindblom Park
Welcome to Chicago's Lindblom Park.
Park History: After the end of World War II there was a growing demand for parks and recreational facilities in the Chicago Area so the City of Chicago responded by making plans to create new parks. In 1949, a 17 acre tract of land was purchased that would become today's Lindblom Park. The decade of the 1950's saw many new additions to the park including playing fields, courts, and a playground. The park's fieldhouse was built in 1983 and during the 1990's the Park District planted new trees, installed lights for the courts, and built a brand new playground. The park is named for Robert Lindblom, a Swedish immigrant who settled in the city in 1877. While in Chicago, Lindblom helped work for the Board of Trade and the World's Columbian Exposition. In honor of his service to the Swedish Government, he was knighted by King Oscar.
Today this park named in his memory offers many opportunities for Chicago's residents and visitors. Come on out and have fun!
