Welcome to Chicago's Lorraine Hansberry Park, located in the Washington Park community and first established in 1959. It was decided to name the site after Lorraine Hansberry, who became the first African American Woman to win the New York Drama Critic's Circle Award for Best Play of the Year in 1959. Come out and bring the kids to the playgrond.
