Welcome to Chicago's Owens Park located in the Calumet Heights community. This was one of many parks in the city to be established in order to meet the growing recreational needs of the post WWII era. The park is named in memory of world renouned African-American sprinter Jesse Owens who won four gold medals in the Olympics in Berlin in 1936.
