Welcome to Chicago's Stars & Stripes Playground Park. This urban playground was first established in the 1970's in order to meet the growing recreational needs of the Garfield Ridge community. The park was named Stars and Stripes Park in 1976 in honor of the nation's bicentennial. The ball diamond and sand volleyball court are lighted so people can play at night. The park's location along the railroad tracks makes it a great place for train-watching.
