Welcome to Chicago's Valley Forge Park located in the Garfield Ridge section of town. This active urban playground was first established in 1972 with aid of the Federal Government. The park's community center has active programs for people of all ages. The park is named for the place where General (future President) George Washington camped with his troops during the Revolutionary War in December of 1777.
