Welcome to the beautiful Afton Forest Preserve, the largest forest preserve in DeKalb County, Illinois. It was purchased in 1973 and what was once a working farm has since been returned to a state of nature. Cornell University's Ornithological Lab calls this place a great spot for bird-watching with over 230 recorded species of birds. Come out and explore over 10 miles of trails through this forest, prairie, and wetland oasis.
