Maple Grove Forest Preserve
Welcome to the oldest Forest Preserve in Dupage County, Maple Grove Forest Preserve. This is the largest remaining stand of maple forest in the town of Downers Grove making it an important natural area and rare historic forest. It is considered by scientists to be a globally endangered ecosystem.
Flora and Fauna: Maple Grove Forest Preserve helps protect the home of numerous plant and animals species. Some of the plants that grow inside the preserve boundaries include maples, buttercups, wild geraniums, and trilliums. Some of the wild animals who call this place home include squirrels, and great horned owls. Please treat their home with respect.
