Welcome to Lincoln Home National Historic Site located in Springfield, Illinois. As the name suggests this place was the childhood home of Abraham Lincoln, who would grow up to be a very successful lawyer who helped build the railroads and eventually became the 16th President of the United States and one of the most beloved ones in the nation's history. Although this was Lincon's home for many years, it was not his place of birth, a log cabin in Kentucky was. One cannot tour the house without a ranger as a guide.
