Welcome to Aspen Backyard Park located in Vernon Hills, Illinois. This small suburban playground first became a park in the fall of 1991 and a year later it's play structure was built. The name was chosen via a contest done by the local residents. As recently as 2002 this park received a makeover that included a new playground and picnic shelter. Come out and have fun!

Vernon Hills Park District Rules

*All animals must be leashed (no longer than 6 feet) and waste removed.

*The following are prohibited in all recreation areas operated by the City of Vernon Hills; foul langugage, threatening behavior, littering, panhandling, glass objects, fireworks, alcohol, narcotics

*All vehicles must stay in designated areas and obey all traffic laws.

*All solicitation and sales require special permit.

*Please respect all park property. Tree climbing is prohibited.

*All picnic parties 20 people or more require special permit.

*The following activities are only allowed in designated areas; swimming, sledding, skating, golfing, fishing. 

Please respect these rules, the parks, and all local State of Illinois and United States statutes. Please report any suspicious or illegal activity to any member of the Vernon Hills Park Staff or call 911. Be safe and come out and have fun.
