The land that is today's Hawthorn Mellody Park was first donated to the City of Vernon Hills by a local contractor in the early 21st century. Local tax money helped to build this park's many amenities which include a half-basketball court, a sand volleyball court, two sandlot ball diamonds, a half-mile trail, a handicapped accessible playground, and a picnic area with grills. Come out and have fun.
