Northside Park

Welcome to Northside Park located off of West Street in Wheaton, Illinois.

Park History: Northside Park is the second oldest park in the City of Wheaton's park system and was first established in 1927. In the mid 1930s the Works Progress Administration removed the sanitary sewer from the park and built a small lagoon with an island named for Bertha Robinson Murray, the first woman to serve on the Wheaton Park Commission. This park is the location of one of two public swimming pools in the City of Wheaton and is the site of the Rotary Creative Play Area, the region's first playground to be used by both disabled and non-disabled children.

Today this park boasts six soccer fields, a sledding hill and an ice-skating rink in the wintertime, six lighted tennis courts, four basketball courts, a picnic shelter, fishing opportunities, a playground for the kids, and much more. Come on out and have fun.
