Welcome to Noe's Rest Park located just west of New Albany, Indiana. A man named James Noe, who grew up in Harrison County Indiana and later was elected Governor of the State of Louisiana generously donated this small park to Harrison County in 1975. The park serves as a memorial to his family who ran a farm on land surrounding the present day park. Though small in size, this park was home to the second largest known Burr Oak Tree in the United States until it came crashing to the ground in 1984 at over two centuries in age. Today the trunk of this tree is protected in a local shelter house and it is 20 feet around and over 72 feet in height. This park boasts a picnic area, a playground, and a basketball court. Come on out and have fun.
