Welcome to Fox Island County Park, a forest and wetland oasis located in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Fox Island County Park helps protect the largest contiguous forest in Allen County and boasts a glacial sand dune that was formed by glacial retreat at the end of the Wisconsin ice age over 14,000 years ago.
Flora and Fauna: Nearly half of this beautiful park is designated as a state nature preserve that helps protect the home of hundreds of unique plant and animal species. Some of the wild animals who call this place home include white-tailed deer, beavers, and muskrats. Some of the plants that grow inside the park boundaries include over 200 wildflower species and over 40 tree species. Please treat their home with respect.
For the lover of the outdoors Fox Island County Park boasts miles of multipurpose trails for all seasons, an off-leash dog beach, a bird observation building, Bowman Lake boasting swimming (no lifeguards) angling opportunities (Must possess a valid Indiana fishing license), and so much more.
