Ox Bow County Park

Welcome to Ox Box County Park located on the banks of the Elkhart River in Goshen, Indiana.

Park History: Ox Bow Park was first established in 1969, but before that time, the land was a self supporting farm run by residents of the Elkhart County Home. The park was developed with funding from the Land and Water Conservation Fund and Bureau of Outdoor Recreation. The park is named for one of the U-shaped lakes inside the park that were once part of the Elkhart River before she changed course. The U-shape bears a resemblance to the bow of oxen yokes used by pioneers. Only about 20% of the park is developed and the rest is in it's natural state.

For the lover of the outdoors Ox Bow County Park boasts an 18 hole disc golf course, a volleyball court, an archery range, a paved multipurpose tower, an observation tower, a canoe launch, athletic fields, and so much more. Come on out and have a blast!
