Welcome to Bertha Ross Park located in Indianapolis, Indiana. Like some of Indy's other parks, this one is named after an influential African-American. Bertha Ross was heavily involved in improving the local school system and trying to get kids involved in youth sports and away from gangs and criminal activity. Ross herself founded a Baseball Little League and helped raise money to fund it. Her only condition for kids playing in her league was that they stay out of trouble. Today this park has two ball diamonds, two basketball courts, a play structure for the children, and two picnic shelters.
