Welcome to Washington Park located in Indianapolis, Indiana. This urban gem was first purchased by the city in 1923 and was initially named Dearborn Park. Many of the park's amenities were designed by landscape architect A.W. Brayton in 1929. In 1932, the park was renamed Washington Park in honor of President George Washington's 200th birthday. Additional amenities were built in the 1930's including baseball fields and in the 1940's it was utilized as a day camp for the local chapter of the Boy Scouts. Today this park boasts many amenities including basketball courts, walking trails, an 18 hole disc-golf course, and more. Come out and have fun! There are three full basketball courts and two half courts.
