Welcome to Lafayette Trace Park located in Noblesville, Indiana.
Park History: The land that is now Lafayette Trace Park was first purchased from the Stern Family in 1997. It was originally known as Strawtown Farm but later renamed after the Lafayette Trace trail which intersects the property and connects many Indiana counties. The trail itself has a significant place in Indiana's history dating as far back as 1835 when it was one of the main east-west roads in the state. It was first used by Native Americans long before the arrival of European settlers but eventually connected many Native American as well as white settlements. A portion of the trail was part of the former Central Canal which was supposed to connect Indianapolis to Anderson.
This beautiful park nestled on the banks of the White River is a haven for lovers of water recreation. Many of the park's amenities are still under development but the handicapped accessible boat launch, built in 2007 with the help of the Indiana Department of Natural Resources is ready to go.
