Welcome to McKinley Park in Topeka, Kansas. This park, like the highest peak in North America, is named for the 25th President of the United States William McKinley. McKinley was born in Ohio in 1843, went to law school in New York and then returned to Ohio to practice law before he was elected to Congress. In 1896 he was elected President and on September 6, 1901 he was assassinated in Buffalo, New York.
