Jacobson Park

Welcome to the big and beautiful Jacobson Park, one of the largest parks located in Lexington, Kentucky. For many years this land was property of the Kentucky-American Water Company, which began to lease the land in 1968 to the City of Lexington for recreational use. In 2011, after 43 years of leasing the land, the City of Lexington finally got ownership of it. 

This park has a paddleboat marina that rents out paddle boats for a price of $8 an hour. From April 20-May 25th the rentals are only available on weekends and the hours are from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturdays and from 1. p.m. until 7 p.m. on Sundays. From May 26-August 12th the rentals are open daily with the same hours for Sundays and from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. every other day. From August 13-September 29th it is once again only open to weekends and the hours are the same as from April 20-May 25th. One can use the boat launch for a fee of $3 but no gasoline-powered watercraft are allowed. 

In October of 1993, nearly 20 years before this description was written, local business and citizens teamed together to create the park's wonderful creative playground for the kids. It has sliding poles, bridges, and many other wonderful features. If you have children, bring them out to Jacobson Park so they can enjoy the fun as well.

The largest picnic shelter at Jacobson Park, which has a 100 person capacity, can be rented out for a price of $75 a day, the other three rent our for a price of $50 a day. To reserve a shelter please call 859-288-2972.
