Welcome to the Huron National Forest, a beautiful oasis sprawling across the northern part of Michigan's southern peninsula.

Forest History: In 1909, the Huron National Forest was established as the Michigan National Forest. In 1929, the name was changed in honor of a Native American tribe that once dominated the region.

Wildlife: The Huron National Forest helps protect the home of numerous wild critters including deer, bears, wolverines, squirrels, moose, foxes, and many others. Please treat their home with respect.

For the lover of the outdoors this forest boasts over miles of multipurpose trails, numerous campgrounds,  and so much more. Come on out and explore.
