Located in the northern part of the Upper Peninsula Michigan's Mackinaw State Forest is a beautiful protected wilderness that was once overlogged for it's timber resources but today is used for recreation, second growth logging, and tourism. It is a diverse forest with many types of trees including aspens, birches, firs, willows, spruces and pines. Some of the resident wildlife include white-tailed deer, bald eagles, and American black bears. Come out and explore many miles of multipurpose trails.
