Hawn State Park
Welcome to the lovely Hawn State Park, one of the most popular state parks in all of Missouri. The park was first established in 1952 when the land's previous owner Helen Hawn generously willed the state her land. Some of the park's landscapes include oak and maple forests, small valleys, and a unique type of bedrock known as Lamotte Sandstone. Some of the resident wildlife include white-tailed deer, raccoons, wild turkeys, hawks, and owls. Pickle Creek's cool, clean, and clear waters give habitat to over 20 species of fish including silverjaw minnows and rainbow darters. The nearly 10 miles Whispering Pine Trail is ranked as one of Missouri's top trails.
Camping: Hawn State Park boasts dozens of campsites with electricity and water. Come out and stay a few nights.
