Robert L. Smith District Park is an active park in Charlotte, North Carolina. It is named in memory of Charlotte Police Officer Robert L. Smith who was killed in the line of duty on January 15, 1987. This park has a playground, walking trails, and three soccer fields. To reserve one of the facilities please call 704-336-8869.
When visiting any park in Mecklenburg County please respect the rules.
*Please respect all park property including buildings, trees, bushes, benches, and athletic facilities.
*The following activities are only allowed in designated areas; swimming, bicycling, skateboarding, inline skating.
*Do not litter! Please help keep the parks clean and dispose of all trash in proper containers.
*It is required by law that all persons aged 16 and under wear helmets when cycling or skating in the parks. Please be safe. Helmet and pads are required in the skate parks.
*The following activities require special permits; camping, operating any private watercraft, setting off fireworks, carrying any kind of weapon (except for law enforcement officers), sales and solicitations.
*Please use all athletic facilities only for their designated purpose.
*All dogs must be leashed (no longer than 6 feet) and not enter areas where it is posted that they are prohibited. Please also clean up after your dog.
*Consumption of alcoholic beverages is prohibited.
*All vehicles must stay in designated areas and obey all State of North Carolina traffic laws.
