Medoc Mountain State Park
Welcome to North Carolina's beautiful Medoc Mountain State Park located near Hollister. This park boasts 34 campsites (some for RV's and some for tents) and over 10 miles of multipurpose trails. Even though it is no longer a mountain, Medoc Mountain is what remains of some of the ancient Appalachian volcanic peaks that formed over 350 million years ago. The land is named after wine-making region of France and was given by a previous owner Sidney Weller. It first became a state park in 1972. Some of the resident wildlife include white-tailed deer, river otters, and gray foxes.
