Welcome to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Gardens in Raleigh, North Carolina. This park was first established in 1975 and was named for Martin Luther King Jr. the great Civil Rights Leader who was born in Atlanta, Georgia in 1929 and died in Memphis, Tennessee in 1968. King has many parks named for him nationwide, but apparently this is the oldest one. Come out and see the 6 foot state of King and the 12 ton granite water monument.
Picnicking: The picnic at MLK Memorial Gardens has a 133 person capacity, 17 tables, and 1 grill. Come out and bring the family and friends and bring some meats to cook as well.

*The following are prohibited; climbing trees, defacing public property, harming wildlife, littering, sleeping, weapons.
*The following are only allowed in designated areas; fires, motor vehicles.
*All skate parks require use of helmets and pads.
*All dogs must be leashed, waste removed, and kept off playgrounds.
