Welcome to Historic Oak View County Park in Raleigh, North Carolina. What was once a 19th century plantation is now a great county park. Historic Oak View County Park has 2 fishing ponds and both of them are for cane poles and catch and release only as well as a few farm animals to see. Here one can learn about North Carolina's rich agricultural history.
Picnicking: Historic Oak View County Park has 2 picnic shelters. The Blue Bird Shelter is the larger shelter with a 50 person capacity with 6 covered tables as well as 4 uncovered tables. The Carya Shelter has a 30 person capacity with 4 covered tables.
Trails: This park has 2 trails, the Hunnicut Trail and the Jones Creek Trail. The Hunnicut Trail is 0.4 miles long, goes through former pasture land that has since been reforested and is considered an easy hike. The Jones Creek Trail goes through the woods and is 0.7 miles long is considered easy to moderate but not stroller friendly.
