Welcome to War Axe State Recreation Area located just off of Interstate 80 in Shelton, Nebraska. This park's 16 acre lake is open to non gas powered watercraft only. Some of the fish in the lake include sunfish, walleye, percy, smallmouth bass, catfish, and bluegill.

Camping: All 8 of the park's campsites are primitive but there are restrooms nearby. Come out and stay a few nights

Picnicking: War Axe State Recreation Area boasts three shelters, six tables, and four grills. Come bring some meats for cooking and bring the family and friends.
