Welcome to Huber Woods Park, an oasis of forests and meadows on the banks of the Navesink River located in Locust, New Jersey.
Park History: In 1964 the Huber Family and J.M. Huber Corporation generously donated 118 acres of land to Monmouth County for a park. Hans Huber was the son of Joseph Huber who immigrated to the United States in 1883 from Germany in order to market pigments for ink production. Joseph and his wife Anna had their home and business in New York City but visited this corner of Monmouth County, New Jersey for vacation getaways. They eventually purchased this land of scenic pastures from a man named Andrew Brown. The house they built still stands inside the park boundaries. Over the years the Monmouth Conservation Foundation has helped raise money for the purchase of additional tracts of land and in 1984 the J.M. Huber Corporation donated an additional 48 acres.
For the lover of the outdoors this park boasts over 8 miles of multipurpose trails and so much more. Come on out and explore.
