Ukkusiksalik National Park
Welcome to Canada's Ukkusiksalik National Park, an oasis of tundra, mudflats, and cliffs located on the shores of Wager Bay near the Arctic Circle. This is Canada's 43rd National Park and was established on August 23, 2003. The land that is now Ukkusiksalik National Park boasts over 1,000 years of human history of the Inuit people with over 500 known archeological sites within the park boundaries. The Hudson Bay Company operated a trading post here from 1925 until 1947. Some of the wild animals that make their home here include tundra swans, snow geese, bald eagles, arctiv wolves, seals, grizzly bears, and polar bears. For the recreational enthusiast Ukkusiksalik National Park offers backcountry hiking, watercraft guided polar bear tours, and more. Come out and explore!
