Welcome to Akron Falls Park located in Akron, New York.
Park History: Some of the earliest human inhabitants of what is now Akron Falls Park were Native Americans of the Huron, Neutral-Wenros, and Erie tribes who survived until the mid 17th century when they were absorbed by the Iroquois Nation. The region surrounding Akron, New York was mostly occupied by the segment of the Iroquois Nation known as the Seneca tribe. In the late 18th century the Holland Land Company turned an old Iroquois route connecting what is now Albany to what is now Akron known as the Great Central Trail into a wagon road for white pioneer settlers. The road became known as the Buffalo Road. The Civil Works Administration helped build the park's amenities including the park's reservoir and in 1947, Akron Falls Park was established.
