Catskill Forest Preserve
Welcome to New York's Catskill Forest Preserve. The Catskill Mountains are part of the Appalachian Mountains which are the roof of eastern North America running from Alabama all the way to New Brunswick. Inside Catskill Forest Preserve and Park are nearly 100 peaks over 3,000 feet in elevation. This beautiful park, first founded in 1885, boasts numerous recreational opportunities including skiing, rock climbing, multipurpose trails, fishing, and a whole lot more. Come out and explore.
The wildlife watcher can come with a chance to see black bears, bobcats, skunks, white-tailed deer, and numerous others. Please treat their home with respect when visiting. Many of the reservoirs inside the park help provide water for the residents of New York City, please do not pollute the water.
New York State Law requires that when visiting any State Forest you must;
