Straus Park
Welcome to New York City's Straus Park, named in memory of Mr. and Mrs. Isidor Straus who died in the sinking of Titanic on April 15th, 1912. Mrs. Straus was offered a lifeboat seat but like John Jacob Astor she volunteered to stay behind so that others could have her seat. There is a memorial inside the park dedicated to Mr. and Mrs. Straus.
This was RecPlanet place of the day on June 17, 2015.
