Conscience Point National Wildlife Refuge
Welcome to Conscience Point National Wildlife Refuge located on the eastern end of Long Island near North Sea, New York.
Refuge History: The land that is now Conscience Point National Wildlife Refuge was donated to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service under the Migratory Bird Conservation Act by Stanley Howard in 1971.
Flora and Fauna: Conscience Point National Wildlife Refuge helps protect the home of numerous plant and animal species. Some of the plants that grow inside the refuge boundaries include bluestem grass, poverty grass, hairgrass, oaks, beeches, and the Prickly pear cactus. Some of the wild animals who call this place home include meadowlarks, ducks, sparrows, bobolinks, and many others. Please treat their home with repsect.
Due to the fragility of this ecosystem Conscience Point National Wildlife Refuge is not open to the public.
