Welcome to the beautiful Saratoga National Historic Park located in Stillwater, New York. This park contains a lot of Revolutionary War History and was the site of the first ever surrender by the British Army in the fall of 1777. The battle began on September 19, 1777 when British Army General John Burgoyne brought 7,500 British Soldiers invade the area. Soon they met up with 8,500 U.S. Soldiers under General Horatio Gates. It was on October 17 when Burgoyne finally surrendered.
Aside from all the history the park also has over 100 miles of multipurpose trails just waiting to be explored. Some sources even say that the park is haunted. So come out and explore.
Wildlife: Saratoga National Historic Park is home to many wild animals including red foxes, skunks, white-tailed deer, squirrels, bats, black bears, and many others. Please treat their home with respect when visiting.
