Welcome to Thornden Park located in Syracuse, New York. Before this land became a city park it was operated as a working farm by the Haskin's familiy from about 1854 until 1873 when it was sold to Major Alexander Davis who planted a garden of rhododendrons, lilacs, and other trees and shrubs on the land. In 1921 the land was finally purchased by the City of Syracuse which described it as "a park already made, a mature landscape of informal groves and picturesque water features and land forms." The city added it's own improvements to the park includine a rose garden, an herb garden, an amphitheater and a swimming pool. Come on out and have a blast!
