Welcome to Goodyear Heights Metro Park located in Akron, Ohio.
Park History: In 1930 the Goodyear Corporation generously donated land to the Metro Park District and Goodyear Heights Metro Park was established. That same year the district purchased an additional 37 acres from a man named Gilbert Waltz and during the depression years numerous other tracts were purchased. Then in the 1950's the Goodyear Corporation made another generous land donation. Thousands of trees were planted in the park over the years and in 1957 the Charles Goodyear Memorial Pavilion was built.
Flora and Fauna: Goodyear Heights Metro Park helps protect the home of numerous plant and animals species. Some of the plants that grow inside the park boundaries include beeches, sugar maples, red maples, blackgums, yellow birches, and sarsaparilla. Some of the wild animals who call this place home include Canadian geese, beavers, squirrels, raccoons, and snapping turtles. Please treat their home with respect.
For the lover of the outdoors Goodyear Heights Metro Park boasts over five miles of multipurpose trails for all seasons, a baseball field, and much more. Come on out and explore!
