Welcome to Hampton Hills Metro Park located in Akron, Ohio.
Park History: The landscapes in and around Hampton Hills Metro Park were formed by glacial retreat at the end of the last ice age over 10,000 years ago. In 1964 the City of Akron needed land for the construction of a water tower so they did a land swap with Metro Parks by leasing 116 acres of land in exchange for a section of Goodyear Heights Metro Park. In 1967 E. Reginald and Rhea H. Adam donated 162 acres of farm land to the Metro Parks district and Hampton Hills Metro Park was established.
Flora and Fauna: Hampton Hills Metro Park helps protect the home of numerous plant and animals species. Some of the plants that grow inside the park boundaries include sycamores, black walnuts, elms, white pines, ironweeds, milkworts, asters, and goldenrods.
