Munroe Falls Metro Park

Welcome to Munroe Falls Metro Park!  

Park History: Before this land became a public park it was owned by a man named John Renner. In the 1930's the Renner family built a summer cabin on the land and dug a small swimming lake. In 1935 they built a house and discovered that their little swimming hole was quite popular with the locals so they began to charge an entry fee of ten cents a visitor. Renner also tried to raise livestock on the land but was unsuccessful. In 1978, Renner sold the land to the Metro Parks district.  

Flora and Fauna: Munroe Falls Metro Park helps protect the home of numerous plant and animals species. Some of the plants that grow inside the park boundaries include shiny club moss, blueberries, tulips, and black gums. Some of the wild animals who call this place home include beavers, frogs, crayfish, turtles, and salamanders. Please treat their home with respect.  

For the lover of the outdoors Munroe Falls Metro Park boasts over two miles of multipurpose trails, a swimming beach, a soccer field, picnic tables, and much more. Come on out and have a blast!
