Welcome to The Rookery Park, home to one of the largest nesting colonies of blue herons in Geauga County. This beautiful park was once the junction of the Old Interurban Railroad, an electric railway operated by the Cleveland and Eastern Traction Company that ran out of Cleveland to various sections of the county from 1899 until 1925. In the late 1960's a company purchased the land with the intend to construct a golf course but ultimately scrapped those plans and sold the land to Geauga County many years later which ultimately opened it up as The Rookery in 1997. Come on out and explore!
