Welcome to the beautiful Chickasaw National Recreation Area located in Sulfer, Oklahoma on the shores of Lake of the Arbuckles, one of the state's highest rated fishing lakes where people come from miles around to catch perch, catfish, bass, and crappie.
Boating: There are four boat ramps located inside the park and there is no limit on motor size. The park also has Veterans Lake, a smaller lake that has a no wake zone and is open to smaller watercraft. There are also miles of multipurpose trails just waiting to be explored and many of the park's facilities were built by the Civilian Conservation Corps.
Swimming: Aside from the lake's swimming beaches the park's creeks also have some fabulous swimming holes that are very popular on hot summer days. CAUTION! There are no lifeguards on duty so swim at your own risk.
Wildlife: Chickasaw National Recreation Area's ecosystem is diverse and unique in that it's in what's called an ecotone which is where eastern hardwoods forests meet western prairies. White-tailed deer, armadillos, flying squirrels, and red-shouldered hawks are just a few of the animals that can be found here.
