Welcome to Oregon's grand and beautiful Malheur National Wildlife Refuge. This refuge was first established in 1908 by President Theodore Roosevelt in order to protect habitat for declining bird populations. Today the refuge is home to over 320 species of birds making it a great bird-watching destination. Some of the other resident wildlife include bobcats, mountain lions, and mule deer.
