Suislaw National Forest
Welcome to the Suislaw National Forest, an oasis of diverse ecosystems sprawling across the Oregon coastline from Tillamook to Coos Bay. This is one of only two National Forests to have oceanfront property in the lower 48 states and four major rivers flow into the Pacific from this forest, the Alsea, Umpqua, Suislaw, and Nestucca Rivers helping to provide habitat and spawning grounds for numerous species of fish including salmon.
Flora and Fauna: The mild winters and abundant rainfall(up to 100 inches per year) make Suislaw National Forest the home of numerous plant and animal species. Some of the plants that grow inside the forest boundaries include Douglas-firs, Sitka spruces, and western hemlocks. Some of the wild animals who call this place home include deer, raccoons, squirrels, and bald eagles. Please treat their home with respect.
For the lover of the outdoors this forest boasts over 230 miles of trails, numerous fishing opportunities, and so much more. Come on out and have a blast!
