Welcome to Martin Luther King Jr. Park in Columbia, South Carolina. Like a lot of cities across the United States Columbia has a park named for the great civil rights leader who was born in Atlanta, Georgia on January 15, 1929 and died in Memphis, Tennessee on April 4, 1968. King's non-violent actions led to many positive changes. This park is home to many annual events including the Jazz Festival and the Saint Patrick's Day Festival. The ball diamond is lighted so people can play at night.
