Welcome to Lewis State Forest located in southwest Tennessee. In 1933 the State of Tennessee purchased this land from the Chancery Court of Lewis County. Over 97% of the land is forested but there is a small wetland located in the southwestern corner of the forest. Roughly 15% of the forest is southern yellow pine, making it unique to the Tennessee State Forest System.

Wildlife: Lewis State Forest helps protect the home of numerous wild animals including deer, squirrels, rabbits, and hawks. Please treat their home with respect.

For the lover of the outdoors Lewis State Forest boasts marvelous hunting opportunities. Come on out and have a blast!
