Like many cities across the United States, Memphis has a park named for Dr. Martin Luther King Junior, a brave man who fought many hard battles against prejudice. Come out and explore Martin Luther King Park. The tennis courts are lighted so people can play at night.

All City of Memphis parks open at 6 a.m. year round and close at 8 p.m. March 15-October 31 and at 6 p.m. from November 1-March 14. Please note that all picnic areas are used on a first come first serve basis.

This was RecPlanet place of the day on April 4, 2018 in honor of the 50 year anniversary of MLK's death.
